Molly the Cat

Molly and I have an agreement. It is an unspoken agreement, but only because Molly can’t talk. The deal we have is that anytime I’m preparing a sandwich in the kitchen, Molly is allowed one small piece of cheese. She therefore gets very excited when she sees me standing in my sandwich-making spot. And she frequently is rewarded with a nice bit of Cheddar — Molly loves Cheddar.

Today she got a nasty shock though. I was making a grilled cheese with Somerdale Red Dragon, which has a strong mustard flavor, and of course Molly was present and begging. I broke off a small chunk of the cheese and she went for it with her usual enthusiasm, but after one quick sniff of it she reared back with disgust. The Red Dragon was dreadful, foul and offensive. Molly had to immediately flee the room.

On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed my grilled cheese sandwich. Quality cheese and an iron skillet are ingredients for certain success.
